  • Sony Video Walkman

Sony launched its first digital video Walkman in series of NW. The flash memory of 2GB, 4GB, and 8GB is the only difference for these NW-A805, A806, and A808 series. When exploring the online Sony store it was found that the price ranges from €119 to €150. This walkman box has a 2” LCD display by which you can view videos either horizontal or vertical. This walkman supports playback of audio formats like Windows Media Audio, MP3 and WAV files while video formats like MPEG4 H.264/AVC.

Talking about the physical structure this walkman is 44 mm wide by 88mm high and its thickness is 9mm which weighs not more than 53g. Many geeks proclaim this box to be a rival for Apple’s I-Pod but I strongly disagree. Although they are in the parallel business the functionality and performance of both the devices is completely unique. Sony Promised to ship this product in the forth coming month of April.

Like Apple I-pod these box can play pod cast or simply from your camcorder to watch your home videos on the run. This walkman is also powered by sound technologies like Clear Bass, Clear Stereo, WM-port, connect with 13.5mm EX headphones.

    Other Specifications of this walkman:

    • Plays approximately 60 hours of music or 15 hours of video
    • Hi-Speed USB compatible (USB 2.0)
    • Supplied accessories: headphones (MDR-EX082), headphone exention cable, USB cable, software (SonicStage CP 4.3, Image Coverter 3), quick start guide (full instruction manual is included on the CD-ROM).

Just visit official Sony Store to buy this.

  • Beware! Don’t get cheated in Petrol Pumps

Nowadays everyone has their one vehicle either it may be car or bike, but this makes your need to visit petrol pumps everyday to fuel up. Since the fast growing automobile population and demand for fuel enriches the petrol pump revenues, there is another stream of underground cheats going around in both major and minor cities around India. The technique or cheat seemed to be a black trick way of stealing your valuable penny without your consent. According to my research more than 100 customers in each city have been cheated by this trick including me. These cheats have been playing around with or without the petrol pump owner’s concern.

No man is so foolish but he may sometimes give another good counsel, and no man so wise that he may not easily err if he takes no other counsel than his own. He that is taught only by himself has a fool for a master. -Hunter S. Thompson (1939)

    Behind the scene:

How actually these workers in petrol pumps cheat you? Its basically the mode of tactics that when you want to fuel up your vehicle for more than 100 rupees you tend to say in your usual low voice to fill up the tank for same but the worker intentionally seem like unheard and fills up the tank just for 40 or below. So you began to argue him that you wanted it up for 100 or something you asked. This time the worker just presses up a non functional button in the machine showing you up like he was tarring up the count but it remains the same and he fills up the other 60 rupees saying that he has already filled up for forty. You pay him 100 rupees for petrol worth 60 rupees. Also some of them turn your attention down by talking some interesting subjects turning your attention away from the counter. This is all happening because of poor technical knowledge and unawareness of the people.

How to be protective from their cheats?

Be narrow and cautious while in the petrol bunk and do aware about the counts in the machine. Be frank and bold to ask about your queries. Don’t get diverted or give attention to their talks. Follow the quote Cut and Rate. This is your rights and no one’s gonna kick you out. Feel free to complaint to the nearest police station or the petrol bunk owner about the cheat. If none of them works then blog about it like I do so that people will be aware about it.

  • Google Groups in 1969 ? Funny Bug !

Today when i was Organizing one of a Google Group called Hyderabad Masti i found this funny bug while browsing their member lists.

The list showed like in the below screen shot, all the members of the group has been joined on Dec 31, 1969. Doesn’t that sound wired ? Internet during 1969 ? He He nice bug. 🙂

This bug might have been an effect of the recent Google Groups transformation from its earlier version to the new version. This group actually contains 4k+ members maybe Google should be lazy enough to update their membership info.

What really makes me laugh is that the Group Owner Amby whose list shows that he has joined in the year 2004 but other members joined in 1969. Members join before group owner create group ? I know its a silly question but i was just kidding with.. Myself, i am the Group moderator and my list shows up that i joined in 2006.

Aware of any other bugs in Google Groups ? Share your comments about it !
Do you think Google Groups should still be Beta ?

[Update] Ken Neville in Googlified has explained this problem. Click here to read.
