  • Make your face as your password

    logo_banana_small.jpg

Have you ever wondered creating your own facial password like the matrix film or the Lenovo Advertisement? Well it’s time to make your own security system with Banana Security.  Facial recognition is not all about buying a high tech surveillance system but a simple webcam and some blocks of programs would help you build up your own face recognition security system.

How to setup your face recognition security?

By downloading Banana Screen software and with a good quality webcam, your security system is not far away. After installation, the program acts as a default authentication system for your computer requiring your facial expression to be your password.

    How does it work?

BS collects your facial features by a webcam which is used to build a statistical representation of face and does stores it in binary format for execution and detection.  This spyware free program which gives a lot concern for your privacy stores your image in encrypted format meaning no third party programs can access it.

The backend of this program seems like it can support all webcams launched way back to 2 years but the application is still in beta stage. BS has released its version only for windows platform where Mac users have to wait a bit. I myself tried the program which sits lite in the system and unlocks quickly after showing my face but the cons is it doesn’t allow multi-user support as far now.

  • Happy Birthday to my blog!

    firstone.png

Its celebration time since I crossed one year of blogging successfully. Success is not because of what I posted a whole year but factors that encouraged me to post continuously especially visitors, guests, friends who felt to leave their suggestions and comments in my blog. Actually my addiction towards blogging was from many great bloggers including my inspiration towards technology.

It all started during the mid of year 2006 when I first established my technology forum called CESWAP which was sold later in the year, then after setting up my own hosted domain I decided to start a blog. During the initial stages of blogging, I used this platform only for my personal blogging like things happening around me and simply about myself but later on I thought of making it more useful then a personal blog without the influence of pro-blogging.Here is the result of what I desired, although I placed some ads which help me motivate towards blogging and the motivation has been working well after I received my first check from Google Adsense.

My special thanks to Srinivasan Paul Joseph without whom this blog wouldn’t be standing here since he was providing me hosting, domain and all the support regard of technical and moral. He is one of my well wisher encouraging me in all aspects of technology. He is also one of my inspirations which I would like to reveal now.

Mistakes are reports of your progress towards success if you haven’t done a mistake then it simply shows you ain’t progressing. Over a year of blogging, some of my posts might be useful, hateful or hurtful to someone or something.I feel apologize and thank you for being a source of identifying my mistakes. Last year my first post was on july 07, 2006 and now I am completing my final year of blog post i.e the current post on 7/7/7 which I posted at 7.07 am today IST.

Thanks everyone for your support especially Srinivasan Paul Joseph, Thilak Raj, Shankar Ganesh, RishiRaj, Haochi, Amit Agarwal, Peter Dawson and others who’s been sharing your suggestion.

  • Do you think you are Genius? – Test it

geniuspuzzle.gifAre you a genius? If you think this is a silly question and doesn’t deserve to ask for, then let me test how genius you are.

Actually I am not genius enough to test others but I have three great puzzles that could surely make you understand your capability. I came across these three fantastic puzzle called The Riddles of Sphinx, Enigma and a simple one called Hacker Puzzle that will surely make you insane….lol.

Ok for a start let me explain from the beginning level of these puzzle.

Test your level 1 with Hacker Puzzle:
Hacker puzzle is all about thinking like a hacker. You have to use your common sense to navigate to 23 pages from the first one. The trick is to go to find the way to each page where you will get hints for next page. My say is that you don’t even need to be a hacker to solve this easy puzzle.
Solved the first one? Ok! But don’t conclude yourself as genius until you finish the other 2 puzzles.

    Level 2 with Enigma:
Enigma is a puzzle game inspired by the enigma machines used by Nazis before and during World War II to encrypt and decrypt secret messages. So your talent hides in decrypting each page and passing successfully to next level. You should be a geek to win this game. Absolutely ardent knowledge in technology is recommended to touch this game.

    Level3 with the Sphinx:
Finished the second level? Hmmm. Ok! Take the final test that proves you as genius. The riddle of Sphinx is a puzzle which requires an Extra Terrestrial Intelligence to win. Developed by students of Anna University this game is about breaking codes using the available and hidden resources in the page. My recommendations are to use Google search as your weapon and also source codes of the page to break things well.

Feel free to share your status and discuss about the puzzle in comments!

  • Rahman’s Anthem for Taj Watch It and vote!

After the successful Vande mataram, Pray for me Brother and other master bits, A.R Rahman has unveiled this Taj Anthem which is simply superb. Report from the seven wonders officials says that Taj Mahal is currently at the tenth place which strives hard with lacking in votes from the Indians. Only few days to go and I think we badly need to encourage our fellow Indians to vote for Taj Mahal. To contribute the best of his side, Rahman has put up his camp of voting for Taj Mahal to elect as one of the seven wonders of world by composing this awesome music.

Before watching the video, please make sure you turn your speakers on, so that you can hear the music.

    Rahman’s comment on the video:

“The Taj has always been a source of inspiration for me, and it is not just about the love between Mumtaz Mahal and Shahjahan but about everybody’s love. I think this monument deserves to be on the list of Seven Wonders of the World and we should all strive for it,”

    My final Verdict:

Please Spare your little time for the sake of India, I am not asking you to shed your blood for the country but it’s just your time by which we gonna earn fame for the TAJ MAHAL. I have done my job what about you?
